The project is building its research on challenging case-studies. It started with a collection of broken terracotta statues from Salamis, Cyprus.
Our dataset was enriched in the beginning of 2017 with a second case-study, a selection of ceramic fragments from Naukratis, in Egypt. The enrichment of the dataset answers to the needs of representing the heterogeneity of the archaeological material in terms of research questions, materials and geometric properties.
During the same year, the need of testing specific algorithms and parts of the platform, led to the enlargement of the dataset with three more collections: the fresco fragments from the Church of the Christ Antiphonitis, the fragments of the Sardinia jar from Pyla-Kokkinokremnos and the fragments of vessels from Tell es-Safi.
